GYPSY CLASS
"The Falk"
STEAM LOCOMOTIVE
"AN INCREDIBLE G-SCALE LOCOMOTIVE!"
We purchased this locomotive
Brand New
at the
2008 National Model Railroad Convention
many years ago - We ran it on our layout during the Christmas Open House of that year / and then it spent the rest of it's time with us in storage!
This locomotive is a
Custom
-
Made Brass
/

.
3 Scale Model
of the
Gypsy Class
"The Falk"
- It is
Beautifully Detailed
/ has lots of
moving parts
/ and runs perfectly on
Electrified G
-
scale Track
(45mm)
- Only a small number of these locomotives were ever made by the builder
SanCheng
out of China - So they are very
RARE
to own
! - We also installed a
Phoenix Sound Speaker
which is hidden behind the stacked wood / and can be activated with a Phoenix Sound Board, or some other DCC card
This is an incredible G-scale Steam Locomotive! - But
because we no longer need this item and have decided to put it
Up For Sale on eBay
- We have way too many G scale trains right now, so it's time to thin out the herd - And we hope there is someone who can utilize and enjoy this

Gypsy Class Steam Locomotive
built in either 1882 or 1884, by the
Marshutz
&
Cantrell Co
.
of San Francisco - T
he
"
Falk
"
was designed to be used in the Northern California logging industry, and marked the changing to steam power, in replacing the horse, the mule and oxen teams, which previously had wrestled with the redwoods
Noah Falk
, a local timberman of the Humboldt Bay Area, purchased the the
Gypsy No
.
1
to use on his short logging railroad he had built in
Arcata
,
CA
to service his
Dolly Varden Mill
. Two years later, the
"
Falk
"
was barged down the bay, and put on a new set of tracks, which led to another one of Falk’s enterprises – the
Elk River Mill
&
Lumber Co
.
The
"
Falk
"
operated there for 40 years / first as a log hauler / and then as a mill yard switch engine. The
"
Falk
"
also served the small town of
Falk
, which had sprung up around the successful lumber venture
The
"
Falk
"
is not a true
"Gypsy Class"
engine in the traditional sense, but is a close variation which includes a capstan steam winch. The throttle is a ball valve that the engineer turns, much like turning on a water faucet
