Corn Husk
dolls are one of America's oldest traditional crafts. Native American mothers made them for their children and the craft was passed on to the early settlers; it has survived in Appalachia and the Ozarks and corn husk dolls are still an integral part of authentic American crafts.
Nan Anderson has been one who has kept the craft alive and made an artform of her cornhusk creations, but has respected the native American tradition that allows that no more features than eyes be on the faces of the dolls lest bad fortune befall the maker. She's passed away now, making these dolls all the more valuable keepsakes and handed down treasures.
